After CiscoLive in Vegas two weeks ago and my "Mayan Internet Calendar" presentation which was well received, I headed to London last week, where I participated in a live BT webcast. The webcast featured six speakers from various BT entities and my segment is about one-third of the way into the show, which you can view here , then select the July 19 session. I'm getting ready to fly out to Vegas for Cisco Live! 2011. It's looking to be a pretty good show with Cisco confirming nearly 19,000 attendees and another 40,000 virtual participants. Cisco Live has been the leading networking show in the industry at least over the last five years in my opinion. Obviously not everyone uses Cisco, but for networking geeks like me, it's a great venue for discussuing IPAM. In fact, I will be giving a talk at the Cisco booth on Thursday. Since it's the last day of the show, which is traditionally pretty dead, I thought I'd add some humor and lighten it up a bit for those diehards who stick around for it. The title of my talk is "The Mayan Internet Calendar". I don't know about the end of the world, but we are certainly approaching the end of the Internet world as we know it as a nearly homogeneous IPv4 network.
